You may (or may not) already know a few important skydiving tips<\/a>; like eat moderately, stay hydrated, and dress appropriately. Most of these tips are pretty cut and dried and easy to understand, but when it comes to dressing appropriately, you might be wondering what is<\/em> best to wear for skydiving? What To Wear: First Time Skydiving<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dressing appropriately for a skydive doesn\u2019t have to be complicated. The most important things to remember when choosing what to swear skydiving are comfort and safety, head to toe. From there, you can bring your own unique style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What should I wear for my first skydive?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First, determine the temperature on the day of your skydive. Keep in mind that the temperatures will drop about 30 degrees as you make the climb<\/a> to your skydiving altitude. A good tip is to bring extra layers just in case (even when it\u2019s warm outside). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, choose the best clothes for skydiving from your wardrobe \u2013 you likely have everything you need for your skydiving outfit and won\u2019t need to buy anything special. Skydiving is technically a sport, so opt for athletic-type clothing and shoes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Close-fitting, stretchy clothing.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Gives you full range of motion for squatting, shimmying, stretching, and arching<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Extra layer(s). <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Make sure your added layer(s) aren\u2019t bulky and won\u2019t flap around in the wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long sleeves, long pants.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Protects your skin from 120+ mph winds and sun during your jump, and grass on landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tight-lacing tennis shoes.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Keeps your shoes on your feet, not lost to the sky during freefall<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n

What Should You Not Wear While Skydiving?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Equally as important as what to wear is what NOT to wear while skydiving. Avoid things that have strings, hoods, metal grommets, rhinestones, pompoms, etc. as these can flap around in the wind \u2013 which is painful and may obstruct your instructor\u2019s line of sight \u2013 or snag the skydiving equipment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
